In Memoriam
Mobile Learning was first hosted by Northeast MS Community College in 2008 and was sparked by the innovative and talented Jeffrey Powell. What started as a small, local conference gradually grew into an international, virtual conference in 2020 reaching educators across the world. Who would have ever thought that a rural community college in Mississippi would host educators across the globe and serve as a hub of engagement and creativity? Jeffrey did. As an Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2013, Jeffrey knew the potential Northeast MS Community College had and worked tirelessly to push this community college to the forefront of technological advances in education. Mobile Learning brings educators from various corners of the world together to share experiences in the wonders of technology.
Jeffrey passed away shortly after Mobile Learning 12. He will be greatly missed at Northeast, and we are committed to keeping his legacy alive. We look forward to continuing to push the envelop with technology and education and make our friend, Jeffrey Powell, proud.
