Go Further (Optional but Rewarding): Unconscious Biases

This is an entirely optional aspect of the module. However, those that choose to engage may find it challenging and helpful. Activity:

• Then, visit the Implicit Bias Association Test Links to an external site. and take some inventories to check your own hidden biases.
• Finally, watch one more TED Talk Links to an external site. with ideas about what to do with your newly discovered biases.

Remember, having implicit bias is not inherently bad or inappropriate. It is an unavoidable aspect of human life as our brains make associations influenced by life experiences outside our control. What is within our control is our ability to recognize and respond to implicit bias.
