Make sure you have Reliable Internet
In order to keep up with assignment due dates which do count as your attendance, it is necessary for you to have easy access to the Internet. Do not rely on using sources that may not be available at all times.
Get Familiar with the Tools used for Online Classes
In this course site we have some resources towards the end of the content. We hope that you will explore resources and become a little more familiar with tools mentioned before diving into your online courses. There will be other tools that may require time to get to know, and we will be here to help.
Setup your Workspace
Decide where your main workspace for "school time" will be located. Make sure that it is free from distractions and comfortable for spending time on your assignments and materials.
Find Study Tools and Materials
Decide how you are going to track assignments, create study materials, or work through assignments. You can grab some notebooks, explore some iPad apps, or setup your computer workspace to pinpoint items needed for classes.
Plan a Tentative Schedule
Many online students balance work, family, friends, and other needs. Be sure to have a plan on working on your classes multiple days/times throughout the week. Designate those days and find a support system for any needs that would take away that "school time." Be flexible and communicate with instructors in the future as the class load increases or personal needs arise.
Find your Support System
As mentioned above, you will need that time to devote to your online classes on a regular basis. Find family members or friends to help with children, make sure your workplace supports your educational goals, or workout study needs with roommates.
